When should I make my first appointment? What can I expect at my first visit?
Generally, your first appointment is made between six to eight weeks. During your first visit you will meet with one of our 3 physicians or the certified nurse midwife to review your medical history, perform an exam, and take routine blood work. Your doctor will decide when to schedule you for your ultrasound, which is not done on the first visit.
How many physicians do you have at your office?
Our office has a team of three women physicians: Dr. Delia Delgado, Dr. Jennifer Salter and Dr. Alexis Lipton. You can read more about them here.
When is my first ultrasound?
Your doctor will decide when best to schedule your first ultrasound, which does NOT occur on your first visit to the office. The first ultrasound is usually completed in the first trimester, with a followup ultrasound around 18-20 weeks.
Who will I see during my pregnancy and delivery?
During your journey with us, you will have the chance to meet each of our caring physicians. The all-woman team of three doctors guarantees that you will see a friendly face you recognize on your baby’s big day!
Do you do ultrasounds in your office?
Our office has state of the art equipment to perform first trimester scans, second trimester anatomy ultrasounds, and even 3D/4D photos!! No need to go to another office!
Where do you deliver?
A Place for Women delivers all babies at the beautiful Morton Plant Hospital.
What kinds of birth plans do you support?
Our team wants to ensure that you have the ideal birth experience on your baby’s special day. We fully support our patients in the use of natural or medicated labor. We encourage our patients to discuss their birth plans with the office early on to help provide the best education and experience for you and your baby.
General Gynecology Questions
How often should I see my Ob/Gyn? What can I expect at my well woman exam?
New recommendations are to see your OB/GYN on a yearly basis. At your visit you’ll have the opportunity to discuss cancer prevention with Pap smears, routine bloodwork, contraception and other preventative healthcare like bone scans, mammograms, etc.
What kinds of birth control does your office offer?
You name it, we’ve got your covered. Our physicians are capable of providing everything from pills and patches to IUDs, Nexplanons, tubal ligation and more. We will take the time to discuss your options and make sure you are satisfied.
Does your office perform any procedures there?
A Place for Women is capable of performing a number of GYN procedures such as hysteroscopy, colposcopy, endometrial ablation and many more. This enables our patients to get back to their daily lives quicker and easier!
Do you offer hormone replacement therapy?
For those women who meet criteria for hormone replacement therapy, we are happy to discuss your options with you. We offer treatment with natural and herbal medicines, traditional hormone replacement therapy, bioidentical hormone replacement and even BioTE pellet therapy.
